We had our sights set on deliveryeing a devastating mix of melody and brutality through our music
Forming in the suburbs of Glasgow, Scotland; Bleed From Within have always had their sights set on delivering a devastating mix of melody and brutality through their music. Songs that echo the personal experiences of band members, and others that relate to the current state of their countries society. These songs speak to fans that have stood by the band through thick and thin.
Following their formation in 2005 (and a self released EP in 2007), the band began playing shows far and wide to prepare themselves for the writing process of a debut album – an album that would help them stand out from a generic and repetitive music scene. Signing to Rising Records gave the band the perfect platform to distribute their music and, in late 2009 after a blinding set at the prestigious Download Festival, the debut album – ‘Humanity’ – was released. The first single, ‘Servants Of Divinity’, has reached almost 2 million views on youtube and sparked a significant internet hype.
Several extensive tours of the UK and mainland Europe followed, while the record was embraced by fans and critics alike. This further secured the band’s position as a force to be reckoned with within the UK metal scene.
Returning to their hometown, the band began writing for their second record. ‘Empire‘ was released during the summer of 2010, and showed an altogether more commercial and groovier sound that paid homage to some of the bands biggest influences. Songs such as ‘The Novelist’ and ‘The Healing’ showed a new, structured approach to the bands signature aggression – proof that the band were evolving.
Following the release of ‘Empire’, the band took to Europe on 2 separate headlining tours and appeared at a number of festivals across the Continent. The album campaign also landed the band on an extensive UK/European tour in 2010 with metal heavyweights All That Remains, Soilwork and Caliban.Further UK/European touring came in 2011, as main support to US giants Suicide Silence with support from After The Burial. This run culminated in a show-stealing set at Belgium’s annual Graspop Festival.
After the release of the first 2 albums, and with two new replacement band members entering the fold – the band decided to take some time away from the road to begin writing for their third studio album. This was an album that would channel all the anger and hatred from people who tried to stop the band, and would push each member harder than ever before. Stay tuned for the record – coming early 2013!!
With a solid team behind them (including support from Jagermeister), and the band being stronger than ever – the remainder of 2012 promises to be non-stop. Leaving the studio in August to play at several renowned European festivals, namely Hevy Fest, Brutal Assualt, Summerbreeze and Pukkelpop, before returning to the UK in preparation for their tour as main support to long time friends, While She Sleeps – Bleed From Within are well on their way to establishing themselves as one of the UK’s finest metal bands. With Worldwide touring plans laid out over the coming year and beyond – if they play at a venue near you, do not miss out!”
